The Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) is currently offered by the ABA Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB).
CTFA candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Three years of personal trust experience plus ICB-approved training program, or
- Five years of personal trust experience and a bachelor’s degree, or
- 10 years of personal trust experience
Candidates must also complete a final certification exam, and 45 hours of continuing education every three years with a minimum of six hours in each of four knowledge areas.
