To the 2023 LNWM & Wetherby Summer Interns: Thank You!

We know from industry studies and our own experience as a firm that diverse teams perform better and drive better business outcomes. But building a diverse team doesn’t happen by accident. It requires intentional effort, starting even before the hiring process, via internships and community outreach.

This summer, our 2023 internship program brought four talented and motivated scholars from the East Coast of the U.S. to work at our San Francisco and Seattle offices: Joel Martinez, Mawena Tafa, and Tiambie Kone (all rising seniors at Babson College in the Boston area) and Neziah Osayi (a rising senior at the University of Rochester in New York).

Providing internship opportunities in financial services, a sector that continues to struggle with a lack of diversity, helps more students see what it’s like to work in finance and lays the groundwork for our industry to benefit from diverse perspectives and experiences, critical in a world that is changing all around us.

It was a very productive summer, as our four interns worked on a wide variety of projects and assignments and got to know our team members and the West Coast. We can’t wait to see where life takes them! A big THANK YOU to Joel, Mawena, Tiambie and Neziah and The Posse Foundation for partnering with us on our internship program.
