U.S. consumer inflation ticked up in March to an annualized rate of 3.5% (3.8% excluding food and energy). The Fed is generally not expected to lower interest rates in June. 

Iran launched 100s of missiles into Israel, virtually all of which were intercepted; the U.S. made clear it would not support Israeli counter-attack.

U.S. consumer sentiment slipped slightly in March and remains roughly in the middle between the low point hit in 2022 and the pre-pandemic average.

The European Central Bank said it may lower interest rates later this year, if inflation keeps trending down toward 2%, potentially decoupling from U.S. monetary policy.

Funding of $830 million from the 2021 Infrastructure Law will go to 80 projects in 37 states to strengthen the nation’s roads, bridges, ports, transit against climate change.
