— Chinese Communist Party officials ratified a “historical resolution”, only the third in 100-years. It elevates the power of President Xi Jinping and cements him as a “transformational leader”.
— At the COP26 climate conference, the U.S. and China released a joint declaration pledging to cooperate on a series of actions and initiatives to combat climate change over the next decade.
— A record 4.4 million people, or 3% of the total work force, quit their jobs in September. Meanwhile the number of job openings in September was 10.4 million, still near record highs.
